| Downtown Designs was a unique boutique nestled in the heart of Downtown Appleton, Wisconsin and was started by a mother daughter team of Laura Vartanian and Sara Mahn. Our unique boutique opened July of 2008 and had such an overwhelming response that we decided to include our in-store items and many other favorites in an on-line boutique. Our mission is to provide a wide variety of products which are both functional and affordable. In our Appleton location and on-line store you will find hand picked treasures from Wisconsin based artists, international fair trade, and a collection of quality home furnishings and gifts. We absolutely want to reach out to the socially conscious shopper by not only carrying Fair Trade products but, as a part of our commitment to the Fox Valley Area, each year 5% of all our internet sales will be donated to a local charity. In 2009 we helped raise over $2,550 for Special Olympics thru online sales and participating in the ever exciting Polar Plunge. Our Goal in 2010 is to help raise even more funds for ReBuild Together a Fox Cities volunteer based non-profit organization that forms partnerships to rebuild and repair the homes of those in need. We believe it is important to be actively engaged in our community and are excited to be a part of Appleton, Wisconsin's Community. To Our Wonderful Customers, Families, and Friends,
It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that after three years Sara and
I have decided to close our store front, Downtown Designs. We appreciate
your patronage and support during this time as we tried new and
different things in an effort to truly be a unique boutique. Over the next
month or so we will be liquidating our inventory and store displays and
will close our doors for good February 27th, 2011. We will continue to be
active in the fair trade industry and hope to have a presence at future
Downtown Appleton events.
